PLANO — Since 2002, Be-Dazzled has created personalized furniture and bedding at the Shops at Legacy in Plano for newborns to adults.
Founder Deb Hoffman, who has lived in Plano for sixteen years, previously worked for two baby stores for more than seven years. After those went out of business, Hoffman decided to start her own company where customers could design their own hand-painted accessories and furniture.
“I was already familiar with a lot of the merchandise and vendors,” Hoffman said. “It was an easier transition to stay in that field.”
Be-Dazzled has since evolved into a place where mothers can design entire rooms for their children.
Hoffman said Be-Dazzled is unique in Dallas because of their production method.
“The fact that we have artists on staff that can hand paint and personalize items with a quick turnaround time [makes us different],” she said.
Be-Dazzled offers entire color and texture coordinated bedroom sets. The staff helps design and coordinate entire bedroom collections. Thousands of fabrics and colors to design window treatments and bedding sets are available.
“If customers come in with pictures or pieces that they already have as inspiration, we can work around that,” Hoffman said. “Most people come in with an idea of at least what colors they want. We have hand-painted accessories, plus artists on staff ... can paint any type of theme.”
To match the bedding, a number of furnishings are available. These pieces can be personalized with colors, styles, and names. Items include adult gliders, cribs, chairs, and more by brands such as Million Dollar Baby, Dutailier, and Bratt Decor. The artists can also design murals and custom wall art for customers of any age.
In addition to the customized baby and children furnishings, Hoffman said Be-Dazzled targets adults as well.
“[Our local seamstresses] sew up everything up to king size beddings and window treatments that are not just for babies,” she said. “Most of my staff has done their own rooms with the materials we have. They’re not necessarily juvenile fabrics; they can be made into anything.”
Although it simple to create the room of your dreams at Be-Dazzled, quality comes with a premium. Prices for bedding start at $400 and a piece of furniture can cost $350. If cost is not a factor, Be-Dazzled’s wide range of accents and furniture assures the theme you imagine will be become a reality.
